About Art House Killarney
Art House Killarney facilitates a variety of art classes and workshops that are designed to stimulate people’s creativity, curiosity and confidence.
We provide art courses for all ages, workshops, kids art camps, art parties, art and wine events and exhibitions. Led by art director Tracy Sexton and her growing team, we work to a structured visual based arts curriculum, researching and developing new and exciting portfolios every term. We also link with community groups, schools, art festivals and other creative initiatives.
At Art House Killarney, we cater for everyone from complete beginners, intermediate to advanced students.
We provide professional tuition, focusing on each individuals’ strengths, style and ability, allowing you to develop at you own pace. While art is at the core of what we do it’s not all we do. Enhancing peoples artistic experience is fully encouraged and nurtured, as is confidence building and personal development. We believe in the importance of art education and the substance and value it can bring to people’s lives. We hope that you will join us on your own creative journey and join our art community here in our Studio in the beautiful setting of Killarney.
Meet the Team
Tracy Sexton
Tracy Sexton is a qualified and experienced Art Teacher and Artist. Educated in the Crawford College of Art and Design, Tracy achieved Honours Degrees in Fine Art, Higher Diplomas and Masters in Art and Design Education. Throughout her career Tracy has worked with a diverse range of students of all ages and has broad knowledge of visual art practises and art therapy.
Previous ‘Marshal Hudson’ award winner and ‘Screaming Pope’ Prize winner at Kfest Arts Festival, Tracy’s work has been selected for many visual showcases throughout Ireland.
Ciara Dorgan
Hello from the Art House!
My name is Ciara Dorgan, and I am an artist and teacher from West Kerry. I joined the Art House in 2021 and I am so fortunate to teach in such a creative, fun and exciting environment! From teaching adult classes, to planning your child’s perfect birthday, my role is to create memorable and enjoyable learning experiences. The main aim of my artwork and my approach to teaching is to make people smile, and to encourage them to embrace colour and the joy it brings!
A note from Tracy
I set up The Art House in 2017 to fulfil my lifelong dream of creating an inclusive art space that encourages positive and meaningful art experiences. I love to teach and I believe that everyone has artistic and creative abilities that just need to be awakened. With art, it is simply a matter of doing and finding out your strengths and passions. The journey won’t be instant, but with practice, a lot of mistakes, plenty of cups of tea, I promise you that you will get there, and when you do it will be worth it!
