Oil Painting Techniques Course for Beginners

At the Art House Killarney we are excited to introduce our new technique-based oil painting class. Often students become frustrated when their artwork doesn’t align with their reference image. The solution to this common problem is simple, correct technique.

This course offers a comprehensive and structured approach to honing oil painting skills rather than creating visual images each week. Students will focus on the ‘mechanics’ of oil painting and essential elements will be explored such as: correct paint consistency, blending and shading, understanding tonal value, building texture, layering, using a palette knife and colour theory, mixing and analysis. The techniques taught in this course will help students achieve success in their future artistic endeavours.

Age range: 18 years and over.

All materials are included.
